In May 1969, prior to the first New Riders rehearsal, Jerry informed me of their existence, and that I was the bass player.

On July 3, 2006 at Grateful Fest 7, I sat-in on "Last Lonely Eagle", two months short of 37 years since I last played music on stage. Several similar occasions in the Fall brought about Bob and Betty recording the News Years Eve shows.

REGGAE RIPPLE: An Explanation

Ronnie Penque and I conspired that RIPPLE would have both of us playing bass. It was to be the last tune of the last set New Years Eve. At sound check, just as everybody was ready, David turned to Johnny and said "REGGAE". Everyone expressed surprise, some bordering on shock. There was only one quick run-through.

The last song of the last (4th) set was at four-thirty in the morning, New Years day. Few people were still in the club. We played Reggae Ripple.

"That was for you" David said, "the only time we ever played that version of that song. That was for you."

Thank you Ronnie for your patience and understanding allowing this "old timer" to play again.
